Bong Montesa was Assistant Secretary for Peacemaking at the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, Legal and Strategy Advisor to the Philippine Government Negotiating Panel for Talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). He was also Chief Government Negotiator in the peace negotiations with the RPM-M, a communist/maoist group in Mindanao and Head of the Philippine Government in the Implementation Review of the 1996 Final Peace Agreement with the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) together with the Organization of Islamic Conference – Peace Committee for Southern Philippines (OIC-PCSP). His expertise is in peace negotiations and political dialogue. He currently heads the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (CHD) in the Philippines.
